SuperSlide shelving

SuperSlide shelving is great for walk in closets or master bedroom closets. Maximise the space in a purpose built walk in wardrobe or turn your spare bedroom into your dream wardrobe. Shelving can be used on it's own to create a simple shelf stack, or you can add a SuperSlide hang bar with our 'J' shaped brackets that allow you to glide your garment hangers along the bar without interruption, even around corners!

You can purchase our SuperSlide shelving in 12" (30.5cm) or 16" (40.6cm) deep varieties and add a hang bar at either 10" (25.4cm) or 12" (30.5cm) from the back wall.

You also have a choice of how to fix your new closet system, using either our Regular (permanent) fix or ShelfTrack (adjustable) systems.

If ordering SuperSlide with Regular Fix keep these tips in mind:

Start with the shelf. Our 12" (30.5cm) deep shelving comes in lengths of 4' (1.22m) long,
6' (1.83m) long, 8' (2.44m) long and 12' (3.66m) long.
Product code #4719
If you require a shelf that is not quite as long as those mentioned above, then simply purchase the next size up and trim down with boltcutters or a hacksaw until you get the perfect fit.

Cap ends of the shelves with our small plastic end caps, product code #203. Each shelf will require 10 end caps.

Our 16" (40.6cm) deep shelving comes in lengths of 4' (1.22m) long,
6' (1.83m) long, 8' (2.44m) long and 12' (3.66m) long.
Product code #5670
If you require a shelf that is not quite as long as those mentioned above, then simply purchase the next size up and trim down with boltcutters or a hacksaw until you get the perfect fit.

Cap ends of the shelves with our small plastic end caps, product code #203. Each shelf will require 12 end caps.

To fix the back edge of the shelf to the back wall of your enclosure, you need to use our trusty Wall Clips, product code #991.
We suggest one clip per foot (12" / 30.5cm) of shelving, plus one.
For example if you have a 6' (1.83m) length of shelf, you will need 7 wall clips.
If your shelf is an in between size (for example 5' 6" / (167cm), then round it up to the nearest foot (12" / 30.5cm) and plus one as mentioned before, and you can space the clips a little closer together.

If you have side walls to fix to at either one end or both ends and you are:
1) NOT adding a hang bar
2) OR you are adding a hang bar but at the 10" (25.4cm) position rather than the 12" (30.5cm) position for a 12" (30.5cm) deep shelf
3) OR you are adding a hang bar to a 16" (40.6cm) deep shelf.
Then you will need our wall brackets product code #974 to support the front edge of your shelf.
If you don't have an available side wall to fix to at one or both ends of the shelf, then scroll down to find our shelf support brackets (product code #1164 / #1166) as an alternative.

12" (30.5cm) deep SuperSlide shelving ONLY
If you have side walls to fix to at either one end or both ends and you are including a hang bar at the 12" (30.5cm) position then you will need our SuperSlide wall brackets product code # 980.

If you don't have an available side walls at one or both ends of the shelf then scroll down to find our shelf support brackets (product code #1164) as an alternative.

To stop your shelf sagging in the centre or to support the end(s) of your shelf if you have unavailable side wall(s) to fix to, then our Shelf Support Brackets, product code #1166 / #1164 / #1162 are what you need.

1166 is our 16" (40.6cm) position shelf support bracket. If supporting the end of a 16" (40.6cm) deep shelf that does not butt up to a wall, this is the bracket to use. One per 'open end' of each shelf.
1164 is our 12" (30.5cm) position shelf support bracket. If you are supporting the end of your 12" (30.5cm) deep shelf, you will need one at each 'open end' of each shelf.
You will also need these brackets if you are supporting your shelf in the centre of a shelf only application using 12" (30.5cm) deep SuperSlide shelving OR when using a 16" (40.6cm) deep shelf with a hang bar position 12" (30.5cm) from the back wall.  We suggest one shelf support every 24" (61cm) - 36" (91cm) apart.
For example if you have a 4' (1.22m)  - 6' (1.83m) wide shelf, you will need one shelf support bracket in the centre. If you have a 6' (1.83m) - 8' (2.44m) wide shelf, you will need two shelf support brackets evenly spaced along the length of your shelf. If you have a 8' (2.44m) - 12' (3.66m) wide shelf you will need three shelf support brackets.
If you are including a hang bar at the 10" (25.4cm) position, you will need to use our 1162 10" (25.4cm) position shelf support brackets in the centre. You will still need the 1164 to support the end of the shelf if you have an 'open end', but the supports along the mid points of the shelf if required, need to be 1162 brackets so that you offer support to the shelf but the brackets do not get in the way of your hang bar.

ClosetMaid's SuperSlide hang bars are available in the following lengths:
3' (91cm)
4' (1.22m)
6' (1.83m)
8' (2.44m)
12' (3.66m)
product code #205_
Hang bars can be trimmed down to suit your exact requirements with a hacksaw.
If creating a walk in or L shape enclosure where a corner hanger bar is required, you can order product code #5649 which gives you a radius hang bar suitable for 90degree corners.
You can cap your SuperSlide hang bars with our SuperSlide hanger bar end caps.
Product code #2081 is an internal end cap which is suitable for hang bars that do not butt up to a wall.
Product code #2083 is an external end cap which is suitable for hang bars which butt up to a wall.
If using a corner hanger bar, the corner hang bar slots into the regular SuperSlide hanger bar and therefore does not require capping to that end.

SuperSlide Hanger Bar Supports, product code #5647 are an essential bit of kit. These J shaped brackets clip onto the shelf and hold your hang bar in place. You will need one every 24" (61cm) - 36" (91cm) apart and one at the end of each hang bar if there is no available side wall to fit to.
An easy way to work out the number of brackets required is to order the same number as the shelf support brackets.
If creating a corner hanging unit with our 5649 corner hanger bar, you will also need to order an additional two SuperSlide hanger bar supports #5647, to support the joins where the corner hang bar and regular hang bar meet.

When supporting your hang bar where side walls are available you have two options.
If you are using 12" (30.6cm) deep shelving with the hang bar 12" from the back wall, scroll up to find a #980 bracket which will support both the shelf and the hang bar.

However if you are using our 16" (40.6cm) deep shelving OR are using our 12" (30.5cm) deep shelving with the hang bar 10" (25.4cm) from the back wall, product code #6810 SuperSlide hanger bar wall bracket is the item you will need to order.

You will need one per end of the hang bar that butts up to a wall.

If you are creating a corner and would like to butt fit two shelves to make the most of your space, then one of our corner supports is recommended to support the join.

Use one per join,  we also recommend that you use the relevant shelf support bracket to add strength.

Product code #120.

If you require a shelf that is not quite as long as those mentioned above, then simply purchase the next size up and trim down with boltcutters or a hacksaw until you get the perfect fit.

Cap ends of the shelves with our small plastic end caps, product code #203Each shelf will require 10 small end caps.

If you have side walls to fix to at either one end or both ends then you will need our wall brackets product code #974 to support the front edge / hang bar lip of your shelf.
If you don't have an available side wall to fix to at one or both ends of the shelf, then scroll down to find our shelf support brackets (product code  #1164 / #1166 / #1180) as an alternative.

To stop your shelf sagging in the centre or to support the end(s) of your shelf if you have unavailable side wall(s) to fix to, then our Shelf Support Brackets, product code #1180 / #1166 / #1164 are what you need.

1180 is our 20" (50.8cm) position shelf support bracket. If supporting the end of a 20" (50.8cm) deep shelf, you will need one at each 'open end' of each shelf.
You will also need these brackets if you are supporting your shelf in the centre.

If you are creating a corner and would like to butt fit two shelves to make the most of your space, then one of our corner supports is recommended to support the join.

Use one per join,  we also recommend that you use the relevant shelf support bracket to add strength.

Product code #120.

If ordering Linen with adjustable ShelfTrack keep in mind these tips:

The Linen shelving product codes and information remain the same as they are when using a regular fix system.
The differences only relate to how the shelving is fixed and supported.
Product codes that will remain the same are as follows, details of each product are the same as shown above:
#7315  #7320 #7325  #203   #120
For details of parts required to install your shelving using our ShelfTrack system, see the parts information below.
After you have selected the lengths of shelving you require your next step is the hang track:

Hang Track is supplied in three lengths. 24" (61cm), 40" (102cm) or 80" (203cm) Product Horizontal HangTrack

Hang Track is a horizontal fixing piece which helps to level your wall standards that hang from it.
You will need to purchase enough to span the width of the enclosure that you are using.

Wall standards come in a variety of lengths depending the number of shelves you are supporting / the spacing between your shelves / the available wall height.

Wall standards are available in the following lengths:
12" (30.5cm)
30" (76.2cm)
48" (122cm)
60" (152.4cm)
84" (213cm)
Product Vertical Wall Standard When creating a ShelfTrack storage system, you will need one wall standard at each end of the shelf / shelves that you are supporting.
If your shelf / shelves are more than 28" (71cm) wide, you will also require a wall standard in the middle. We suggest one wall standard at each end of the shelf and then no more than 24" (61cm) apart in the middle.

Shelf Support brackets are available in 12" (30.5cm) deep, 16" (40.6cm) deep or 20" (50.8cm) deep to support either depth of our CloseMesh shelving.

It's easy to mix and match depths of shelving using our ShelfTrack system too.

You will need one bracket per wall standard, that each shelf crosses.
For example if you were to design a 4' (1.22m) wide enclosure with two full width SuperSlide shelves and hanging (click here to see an example), you would require three wall standards, and six shelf support brackets.
